Candle Burning Tips

1. As a general rule, wicks should be trimmed to 1/4 inch every 3 to 4 hours of burn time. Our cotton wicks can be easily trimmed without scissors, simply break off the charred part with a tissue, the wick will trim itself perfectly nearly every time.

2. Most candles are designed to burn 1 hour per inch in diameter, for instance, our 7 oz candles in glass jars are approximately 3" wide so they should be burned at least 3 hours per session. If they are burned less than 3 hours they may start to tunnel, burn a hole down the middle leaving much wax unused.  Avoid tunneling by making sure you burn the candles more often than not for the appropriate time.

3. Our clean burning soy candles are designed not to smoke, however, because soy burns slower than paraffin our wicks are thicker to assure the candles burn evenly, they will smoke if the wicks are not trimmed regularly.
